Universal-Investment bolsters fund distribution team

Universal-Investment has expanded its fund distribution team with the appointments of Oliver Fischer and Uwe Lippert.

Fischer, who joins as the new head of fund distribution, was previously with the Canadian asset manager Fiera Capital responsible for the business in Germany and Austria.

Based in London, Fischer served as general manager for seven years while at Fiera Capital. His previous positions include FPM Frankfurt Performance Management, First Private Investment Management and Citigroup Asset Management.

Meanwhile, Lippert was appointed as senior sales manager at the beginning of the year.

Prior to joining, he worked as department director institutional sales Europe at Metzler Asset Management and held previously various positions for HDI Lebensversicherung and AXA Group.

Thorsten Schneider, head of sales institutional investors and fund distribution at Universal-Investment, comments: "Both bring in an excellent network and have broad expertise, both in portfolio management strategies and in the individual requirements of institutional investors."

Universal-Investment reveals the fund distribution team will be further expanded, from currently five to eight sales professionals in the future.
